I have seen that the micro-channel binding normally takes place after the user has initially registered.
Websites that I normally visit have it so that a user can register by clicking a micro-channel icon.
For example lets say I was a sina weibo user and came to wenda.wecenter.com. When I went to register I would just click the Sina Weibo icon and the website would automatically register me.
After I press the sina weibo button I get taken to a landing page where I can add additional details and create a username.
The website pulls my e-mail, my image, my sex, name.
This makes it easier for visitors to start engaging in conversation.
